In today's world of technology, internet has become vital part in everyone's life. People use internet to do lots of stuff like social networks, sending e-mail etc. Now days, internet is used at work place because employees need to contact their customers, employees and employer via e-mails.But employees focus on their personal stuff due to which employer has to face lot of loss.

Company should give proper training to employees about how to send emails and less use of their personal work. They should also warn employees about uploading the financial data only on the secure websites. Employees should not download unnecessary documents or software which are not related to their work. Employees should use encryption and passwords on their office work and personal work. They should make sure that their employees should know why they are given internet access, it should help them to make their job better and not create any distraction or hindrance.

DONOT'S  OF INTERNET AT WORKPLACE

Employees should not waste companies time by sitting on social media and not doing the work as it wastes companies money also. Employees should not share any personal opinions about their coworkers and employers. Employees should not look for job on their current employer internet as its against the policy. They should not store their personal data in the computer of the office as other employees can also access that computer and it can be hindrance for them also.

TRENDS OF PERSONAL INTERNET USE AT WORK

Employees who surf internet, write e-mail or do other activities which are not related to the work are called cyber loaf and this activity is known as cyber loafing. It is the way where number of employees waste their time. According to survey, 44.7% of employees are distracted from work and do not pay much attention to what is going on on the company.

The internet has made the business life easy and improved the communication as well as productivity. But cyber loafing has caused the problem which is not controllable. It has been difficult phase for employers as they are been held responsible for the act of their employees. Many organizations block the tools of new social media so that employees do not have any access to these websites or they want that the employees should not waste their time on these websites.

INTERNET USAGE POLICY

Internet Usage policy is very important which is given to all the employees before they are being hired by any company or an organization. The internet usage policy clearly defines the websites the employees can use during their work or on their workplace. Employees are not allowed to access their personal accounts while they are working. It also says that if any employee violates this policy they can be punished.

Internet Usage Policy act as guidelines to employees so that they don't misuse. It increases awareness and prevent the incidents of misuse. Employees should not download the useless software or open the links which are not of the use of company. They are risky and sometimes can provide threat to the company.So employer should clearly mention that what the employees are allowed to open or not. Employer should also tell them when they are allowed to access their personal accounts.

Internet Policy alone is not enough but it should be implemented, everyone in company should follow it. The data employees download should firstly be detected by virus detection software.Employees should also not place their company's data like copyrights etc. on the public access website. t should be accessible with the permission.

Internet Usage is costing companies loss of million dollars in the productivity and the goodwill of the company. So the company should also take care of the activities of employees.

It has information which can be accessible throughout the world and people can get any information they want like News, weather etc. They can know whats happening in other countries sitting at home. Internet is made up of thousand small networks but it is not possible to give exact count of number of networks and users.

  In the beginnings, Internet was used by government so that they can keep check on the military services and protect government communications. The history of internet starts with development of computers. The messages were sent through ARPANET. Internet is most commonly used by number of people and most common used internet is World Wide Web. The internet allows to store information and connect other users to other computers. There are number of users of internet all over the world. As per the data below, Asia is the largest user of internet i.e. 42.0%. According to the survey many companies noticed the misuse of internet. Twelve percent of companies took an action to keep an eye on the work of employees. Most of other companies blocked other inappropriate websites.
